And then forget about using Twitter in the IM niche (unless that’s your bag)… think about using it in your own niches… to find like minded people… people you can emphasise with… people you can target…
# 3 – Once you have found people who are interested in the same thing… click on their followers then begin to follow them….many will reciprocate… YOU start to build a following.

As you know, I’m from the UK and we don’t celebrate it over here (although we know we had something to do with it)…
I tried to find a suitable video to go with this but…errr… most weren’t suitable for a family celebration. This is the best I could find which kinda sums up my confusion over the whole thing.
Anyway, have a good holiday across the pond… we in the UK, will just carry on working I guess.
Thought this was an interesting video of Jimmy Wales (Wikipedia founder), discussing the benefits of perhaps a more democratic search engine ranking system vs. the “black box” algorithm method used by Google.
In theory it sounds great to me. However, I question if there would be a broad enough representation of search users who actually take the time to vote and rank results? And if they do, will they end up ranking sites for good reason or will there be too much “static” in the voting process? That leads me to believe some sort of hybrid methodology might be more ideal.
I don’t know, what are your thoughts? Could a more democratic Wikia Search type system be the wave of the future?
Well if anyone attempting to make a video using webcam for the first time check out this video:-
Ottis has a couple of great tips for you, it’s a long video because he also show you how he edited the video using “Windows Movie Maker” but most of you will probably have this software installed too.
My wife found a great little blog post on 3 key reasons the recession is good for social media marketing.
I particularly like point #2 about “Shared Angst”, and how you can use that to keep your finger on the pulse of people’s evolving needs and wants as the economic climate changes.
Also, point #3 should give you some fantastic niche ideas to dig into as an affiliate.

3 Reasons the Recession is Great News for Social Media
This recession is looking worse than Sylvester Stallone all roided up for that recent Rambo 14 (Rambo goes to the buffet for the Early Bird Special with some pals) movie.
It’s going to be bad. But for social media, it just might be the best possible circumstance. Here’s why:
I’ve only had a quick play with it a while back but it seems to do the job and saves your recordings as .avi files. Then just upload them to YouTube and add them to your blog or site.
Note: You will need a mic to record sound but you can get those real cheap. Chances are you have one already. If so great!
Have a play with it, video reviews are really, really powerful.
