Not sure if I’m slow to notice this or not, but just came across an awesome Beta tool by Google called Insights for Search.

I played around with it for just a bit and have to say I’m pretty darn impressed in terms of niche hunting and trend research worldwide.

You can start extremely broad and filter by region, date range, general categories to identify hot trends and drill your way down…or you could start with something more specific and work your way back up, sideways, etc.

There’s also some cool interactive charts and maps where you can see what’s trending up and where.

Essentially, it seems to be like Google Trends on steroids…check it out:
