With regard to the additions to the lenses:-

1) The Opt-in form is a genuine actually ‘on the lens’ form, not simply a picture of a form (that then takes people elsewhere to sign up). I think people find that off putting and possibly even think it’s trickery. So, having the form actually on the lens is much neater. We’re getting a great opt-in rate from the lenses.

2) The Clickbank HopAds are better than Adsense ads simply because you receive a full affiliate share rather than your minuscule share from Squidoo. Depending on the keywords you use they can be more targeted than Adsense as well, though obviously you are limited to Clickbank only products (which may be of no use at all on a lot of niche lenses). AND you control how many you use and where on your lenses they are displayed.

Are we making sales from them?.. Yes, but not a huge amount. That’s NOT the primary marketing role of the lenses. The lenses’ primary role is to collect opt-ins to ANC… then to make sales of whatever is being promoted on each lens. Any sales via the HopAds is really just icing on the cake.
