Hot News Niche Hunting
Here’s a little “Hot News” affiliate niche hunting tip for you.
Nearly every week a new scandal seems to pop up surrounding technology, privacy breaches, etc.
Just today, news broke on Dropbox allegedly lying to their users about security. They’ve always claimed files are encrypted and employees can’t view files, but turns out that might not be the case:

So what do concerned people do when this happens?
…they usually go to Google and start typing in “dropbox alternatives”, “alternatives to dropbox”, “services like dropbox”, etc.
As a result of that you can do a lot of things with this, like jump in and market better alternatives like Spideroak, which we mentioned in one of our niche reports last year on Online Backup Services. Spideroak not only functions as an online backup service, but has folder sharing functions much like Dropbox. Unlike Dropbox though, encryption keys for Spideroak are stored on your computer, not on their servers…making it almost bulletproof secure.
The same situation arises with things like the Skype/Microsoft deal this week. I’m not sure what there might be to market as alternatives, but it’s worth investigating. If nothing else, you can put up an article or something and try to capture some Adsense income from the traffic surge.
Another example is the whole iPhone location tracking scandal. That’s been a huge boost for Android devices. Again, another big opportunity.
So keep your eye out for things like this. It’s a great way to help people with a timely problem/concern and pick up some income at the same time.

I didn’t know about the dropbox scandal. I’m gonna go uninstall that right now.
Anyways, yeah, it pays to keep your eyes open when it comes to news. You can really make a lot of money. I do that all the time working in the diet niche where lots of new diets come out seemingly every month.
Jay’s reaction above proves your point eh?
